I was watching this game and it struck me that South Carolina has really become our new K-State. They're a quasi-rival at this point, a team that beats us a little more often than they should, who we hate losing to, and we directly compete with for divisional placement. They don't have a great tradition, but they've been pretty solid in the modern era. So I thought about who the analogous schools would be for our other regular SEC foes.
Kentucky, I think, is basically kansas, due to the basketball thing. Obviously the rivalry isn't near the same, but I think other than that it works.
Tennessee is basically Nebraska. Huge stadium, great tradition that has faded pretty much in recent years. Delusional fans stuck in the past. Pretty fun to beat them.
Vanderbilt I think is the new Iowa State. We should beat them basically every year, but they're just dangerous enough to sneak in a win now and then.
Georgia is basically the new Oklahoma. Powerhouse team that's super hard to beat. A legit power program.
Florida is basically Texas. Flagship school for a huge state, tons of money, often doesn't live up to expectations but always a threat to win a national title.
Arkansas could arguably be Colorado or Oklahoma State. They're pretty solid overall but not really a power, and can be pretty bad for stretches of years, but have the potential to be pretty good some years. We tend to beat them a lot but they're dangerous and could ruin our season.
