The first in-conference road win of the year. A major win vs. a not so major program. A complete and utter domination of the Big 10. And more in the Week 3 Big 8 Power Rankings.

1.) Oklahoma Sooners (3 - 0) last ten (9 - 1)
The Sooners roll again, this time on the road vs. a very frisky Cyclones team that seems to have a decent idea of how to test the Sooners. OU continues to be the class of the conference and the lone hope for playoff relevancy amongst the Big 8's finest. Hell, they're they only program with any shred of national respect these days.

2.) Oklahoma State Cowboys (3 - 0) last ten (8 - 2)
The Pokes do it again with a slightly surprising performance against the Boise State Broncos who were poised to begin their run to the playoff a tad too soon. Mike Gundy reminded us once again that he can coach one hell of a football team. The Pokes open up their conference slate against Texas Tech on Saturday night in Stillwater ... come for the points (OSU -13), stay for the over (79).

3.) Missouri Tigers (3 - 0) last ten (9 - 1)
The Tigers went on the road and won in a good old fashioned shootout against northwestern Indiana's best 0-3 football team. The Boilermakers have now lost three games by a combined 8 points. One can only hope that the team adopts some of the miraculous recovery techniques exhibited by their defensive unit repeatedly Saturday evening. The Tiger's enter week 4 as huge underdawgs (-14.5) in a matchup sure to frustrate the extremely level-headed Tiger fanbase.

4.) Colorado Buffaloes (3 - 0) last ten (5 - 5)
The Buffs remain unbeaten in all competitions by taking down the New Hampshire Wildcats, alma mater of noted speed addict, Chip Kelly. Strangely enough, the Buffs take on Kelly's new team the UCLA Bruins next week looking to continue their hot start to the season and further enforce the predominant view of Chip Kelly as a Fraud in Chief.

5.) Kansas State Wildcats (2 - 1) last ten (7 - 3)
I have no idea how KState looked in this one, but they did beat a bowl team, so there's that. Another interesting factoid, USTA started playing football in 2011. They seem to support their annual athletics budget by playing well attended games at the Alamo Dome and going on the road to get housed by major D1 schools. Not a bad way to make a buck iyam. KState opens their conference slate at West Virginia next Thursday night, where the Mountaineer faithful will be hyped up on hooch and oxycontin. Look for the Wildcats to come home with their tail between their legs.

6.) Iowa State Cyclones (0 - 2 - n/a) last ten (5 - 5)
As previously mentioned, the Cyclones looked good in defeat at home against the Sooners this week. Sorta like kissing your sister for the Cyclones, as they're in the middle of a stretch where 4 of their 5 opponents are ranked. They could be looking up at kU before they know it. The lone exception to this Midwestern murderer's row happens next weekend when the Akron Zips come to town. Akron is coming off a victory over the nerds of Northwestern.

7.) Nebraska Cornhuskers (0 - 2 - n/a) last ten (2 - 8)
In a mildly surprising result, the Cornhuskers were again housed at home by an allegedly inferior opponent. This time by the third best team in the state of Alabama. The most shocking aspects of this affair were the undisciplined play from the Bugeaters and the physical dominance from the boys from Troy. All is well in Lincoln as the chosen one is simply building the program back up one brick at a time.

8.) kansas jayhawks (2 - 1) last ten (2 - 8)
THIS PROGRAM IS A HEAPING PILE OF EXCREMENT. Beating the worst major division one program in the country (buttgers) only makes you a shade less terrible than you were last week. Call me crazy, but I'd still take the under on the season win total (o/u @ 3). With conference play beginning this week look for the eyes of the jayhawk 'faithful' to quickly turn to burrito bill's latest band of bball mercenaries.
