Looking at Georgia’s five SEC games there were really two types of outcomes. Against UK, Vandy, and Florida, Georgia was completely dominant. Got off to big early leads and won by 3+ possessions. Against SC and Auburn, they looked more vulnerable. SC and Auburn both maintained leads into the third quarter and lost by 10 points or less.
What was a differentiator in these games? QB rushing yards. SC and Auburn averaged 80 rushing yards from their QB’s vs. -22 yards between UK/Vandy/Florida.
Obviously other factors matter and the overall offensive scoring was about the same between the five teams (all scored between 13 and 20 points). But you’ve gotta think establishing the ground game helped control game flow.
Brady had 585 rushing yards last season but only 134 so far this season. Injuries have been a factor, but with better rest after a bye don’t be surprised to see Moore scheme up some designed runs.
