As more schools flock early to Brady Quinn, a few suggested to reclassify.
Quinn, a top quarterback target in the 2028 class, received interest from schools to jump into the Class of 2027 after an eye-catching freshman season at Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy.
"The trend now is quarterbacks committing fairly early," Quinn said Sunday at the Rivals Camp Series in Miami. "A few colleges have been pushing me to reclass up the 2027 class, so that's definitely a possibility. But if I do stay in this class, (a commitment) will probably be the summer after my sophomore year."
Among the schools to offer early into Quinn's recruitment, Missouri hosted the 6-foot-1, 180-pound signal caller twice this past year. Quinn made it on unofficial visits for a March practice and June camp, where he received his scholarship from offensive coordinator Kirby Moore.
"They're building a great program," Quinn said. "Coach Kirby Moore and (head) coach (Eli) Drinkwitz have done an amazing job. The way that they can compete in the SEC at a high level is great, and the culture they're bringing to Missouri is just amazing."
Quinn last spoke with MizzouToday about the Tigers in January during the Navy All-American Bowl National Combine in San Antonio. He received a few more offers since then, including Miami (FL) and North Carolina, putting his total up to 16, and with double-digit visit scheduled for this spring, Quinn noted relationships come before anything else.
"Obviously, when you go around every college, it's always going to be the same facilities, the same buildings," said Quinn, who plans to visit Missouri again this fall. "So it really just comes down to a relationship standpoint, and I have great relationships with Missouri."
Missouri will contend for Quinn over the next two years, depending on his decision to reclassify or not. His relationship with Moore, an offensive staffer garnering attention for job openings the past two offseasons, will be a huge factor in Quinn's recruitment.
"I know that he's worked with Brady Cook for the past few years," Quinn said, "and Brady's an amazing quarterback. So just him being able to relay the same stuff to me was pretty, pretty great."
Quinn will next visit Notre Dame on April 9. Sharing a name with a former Irish quarterback, the visit will mark Quinn's first trip as a recruit to South Bend, Indiana, a major one for his family.
