Google says: The 62nd NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by ETT will take place December 10, 2019, at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York City.

CBS Sports says:

>> Sterk will be in New York next week for the National Football Foundation dinner on Tuesday, no doubt interviewing candidates between bites. The NFF dinner is considered college football's summit where a lot of coaching search business is conducted. <<

Haven't read everything here and congrats to the site for selling a lot of subscriptions.* But if the above presents any sort of actual / legitimate backdrop to what Sterk was destined to do all-along, wouldn't Sterk's list of three candidates presented to the BOD simply be his pedestrian report following the search firm's (and perhaps his own) list of candidates?

If Sterk was engaged in nothing but a fishing, fact-gathering, and temperature-gauging mission during the time he was: "in Atlanta," isn't all subsequent activity the ordinary / natural expectation of the search? Is the hysteria generated currently much ado about nothing except to put forward the detail the BOD has given Sterk license to go: "elephant hunting" and perhaps put everybody on notice Mizzou is serious about its commitment to the SEC, and, all the while catch the attention of Sexton while doing it?

* My question is simply if the bigger engagement (NFF dinner) after this weekend's games is something all schools have waiting for all along? Might coaches with games pending this weekend use restraint in what's otherwise their courtship with new schools? If yes, then isn't what occurs Tuesday REALLY when & where active decision makers have anticipated doing their bidnez all along and the rest of everything is just a hysterical sideshow?
