Can we please get rid of this stupid, antiquated rule in the National League that requires pitchers to bat for themselves???
There's only one league left on earth, in all levels of baseball, whether it be Little League, Pony League, high school, Legion Ball, college, minor leagues, international leagues, Olympics, or World Cup of Baseball that requires the pitcher to hit for himself and that's Major League Baseball's National League.
It's stupid. It's dumb. And it's a useless rule.

And I'm not just saying this because our best pitcher just got hurt while batting.
I've been saying for years, nobody wants to the pitcher hit and wouldn't it be better if instead of that once a week when the manager has to consider whether or not to take his pitcher out for a pinch hitter if he had a professional hitter already in the lineup every night?
Wouldn't it better to have Mark Reynolds or Randall Grichuk in the lineup every night instead of having to watch Lance Lynn, Carlos Martinez, and John Lackey embarrass themselves trying to do something they haven't been good at since middle school?
Plus, our best pitcher just got hurt trying to hit. It's time for the Universal DH!
