Why are the rules on free throws setup so that the offense gets most of the advantage rebounding free throws? They're allowed to just immediately shove the defenders under the basket when the shot goes up, but if the defender turns and does the same thing the other way it's a foul.

This has extended to field goals as well. Watching lots of games, and offensive players are given free reign to shove defenders wherever they please, but not the other way around.

It's frustrating.
