All right, you want to know why we bitch about kickoff times? Because it's 232 am and we're still writing. So I'm sure you feel terrible for us.

Honestly, if you just watched that game without a rooting interest (or without a desire to go to bed before 3 am) that was crazy entertaining. I mean, it was a really fun game to watch and it went down to the very last second.

The good: Drew Lock, Emanuel Hall, Larry Rountree, Tyler Badie, the offensive line, a rediscovered running game, Tucker McCann.

The bad: The defense. All of it. On both sides. My goodness it was like a 7 on 7 tournament for most of the night. Some of you guys could have completed some of those passes.

Ultimately, I haven't read any of the board and probably won't until at least tomorrow night, but here's where I come down: This was always the game Missouri absolutely had to win. And it did. I refuse to say it doesn't matter how they did it because it matters a little bit because guys like Jake Fromm and Mecole Hardeman and Jake Bentley and Deebo Samuel and Tua Tagovailoa and Jerry Jeudy are waiting on the schedule and OH MY GOD THEY MIGHT THROW FOR 438964986 YARDS AGAINST THIS MISSOURI DEFENSE. So, look, if you're in a little bit of panic mode, I get it. That was DREADFUL defense tonight and the next three teams are so much better than Purdue it's ridiculous.

But here's the thing: One week often means nothing the next week in college football. Maybe Georgia's off next week. Maybe Missouri plays the game of its life. Teams are up and down all the time because they're made up of 20 year old human beings, not robots or chess pieces. As I type this, it is my guess that at least three or four times this year Missouri is going to have to score 35 or more points to win and at least a couple times they can score 35 and it isn't going to be enough. But we'll have to wait to see if that's accurate obviously. I've been saying that the Purdue game was the biggest game on the schedule until they won it and then the Georgia game is. Missouri had to be 3-0 going into this game. It is. If you can put together a strong effort and go into the fourth quarter with a chance, you'd feel pretty good about that. So let's see what happens. I'm going to bed.
