I had the chance to meet Coach Drink for the first time at the Cheerleaders golf tournament today. Great speaker, which was expected. He just gets it and commands the crowd with his message. Completely different from other things I’ve seen the last 20ish years.
The thing that really stood out was his honesty when speaking with him in a small group. He said they don’t have the speed at receiver to be elite, or the pass rush for the defense to be elite. Of course it’s not what you want to hear, but it’s refreshing how honest and open he is.
It’s hard not to buy into the hype around him after meeting with him. I get why he’s good on the recruiting trail.
