My company has a division HQ and manufacturing plant in Columbus, OH. I was just there last week for the first time since the Cotton Bowl.

That was so much fun!

Before the game: "Mizzou has no chance. We can beat you with our third string."

After the game: "We didn't care about the game and it was your Super Bowl."

I had so much fun talking shit to them.

Let's have more of that, please.

Did you ask them what third world country got the “Ohio State Cotton Bowl Champ” t-shirts?

my wife is a buckeye from upper arlington… her grandparents and parents were all born there and went to tosu so I’ve seen what there is to see…

Columbus is by far the best town in ohio I’ve been to, assuming you can get past the wackadoos and embrace the bucks to some degree… Akron, Cincy, Toledo, Athens and Cleveland are all shit (especially in winter)

the cotton bowl was a great night at our house

edit to add- the rock & roll hall of fame was cool, the rest of Cleveland sucks ass

That's in Sandusky. Couple hour drive north of Columbus. And my hometown. Also primary source of revenue for the Callahan Institute.
Humble brag. I got to hang out with Rob Lowe for a few minutes this year. Of course all I talked about was Tommy Boy. He said every old like me only wants to talk about that movie. Said all the old gals want to take about About Last Night. Very nice and humble dude.

I will take Cincy area personally. Over The Rhine is a cool restored German neighborhood with tons of bars and shops and new apartments. It’s a scenic river town with lots of hills and borders Kentucky so if you want a more southern feel for a day trip it’s right there. Their chili is good.

Columbus should be a cool large college city but relative to others in that category (Austin, Madison Wisconsin as examples) I just didn’t see it as being as great. But I may have not gone to the right areas. Similarly with Cincy you have to know where to go to give it a fair shake.

I lived in Pickerington which is the suburbs for a few years and had a great time. Roosters donkey sauce wings are still my ATFs though they've been downsized now. It was a big test market for everything retail so was a shopping mecca or so I was told.

My ex-wife was raised in UA. I always liked my visits to Columbus. Almost moved there, but opted for STL in the end. My life would be much worse we had gone to Columbus, but not because of the city itself.

Ironically, her and her family are all Michigan fans. They have enjoyed life this month.

Shoutout roosters. Great spot.

I'd rather discuss About Last Night- Demi Moore was smoking hot in those days, before lifts, tucks, implants, and lipo. Smokin' hot.

Fantastic city. Growing like a southern city. Incredible golf clubs. I look forward to having a Mizzou headcover at one this summer.

They really do have fantastic golf. I‘ve played Scioto, Muirfiled and New Albany.

Favorite of those three? I’ve only played Muirfield Village and Double Eagle there. Muirfield wins that matchup by a stretch.

Scioto was amazing, but I played really well that day so that skews it.

I almost had to move there and even submitted an application to join New Albany. That is Lesley Wexner‘s club. Absolutely gorgeous club.

You should try Longaberger sometime, not too far away.

I'm not a big Wexner fan, not that I'm anti-Semitic but rather for who he's associated himself with.

Used to live there for a minute, liked to drop into ringside cafe for a burger…didn’t love the city all that much but there were redeeming things here and there.

Cincy was better imho

That Short North gallery area was very cool back in my day. Great place to take a date and walk around. The Columbus downtown area was much cleaner and nicer than Cinci's, having the capital and theatres there of course. Cinci downtown was just starting to revitalize last I was there. City Center was also nice back in the day. Then I liked and spent a lot of time in German Village just to the south as well, lotta solid places like Old Mohawk and Thurmans there.
