I was curious how the various divisions in the major conferences stacked up. I couldnt find anything out there, so I just took a basic approach. Using the following composite rankings i just compiled the average for each division https://masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm
As I suspected, the SEC East is pretty weak. Here's how those averages came out.
1. SEC West (23)
2. Big Ten East (40)
3. Big 12 (44)
4. Big Ten West (45)
5. ACC Atlantic (48)
6. SEC East (53)
7. ACC Coastal (62)
8. PAC 12 South (63)
9. PAC 12 North (64)
I realize, not a perfect way to measure division strength, but it does reinforce my perception that the SEC East was weak.
