There's a lot of chatter on twitter lately that the B1G and SEC are going to raid the ACC sometime in the next year. Thamel had an interesting take:
I believe this is true. The SEC and B1G are in a big competition to get UNC and Virginia. The B1G selling point is academics. I believe the SEC can at least claim to be an adequate academic fit as the top half of the SEC is solid academically: Vanderbilt, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, Mizzou, Kentucky, Oklahoma. The SEC selling point is that those two schools are "southern" so it's a cultural fit vs playing in Michigan/Iowa/Nebraska/Oregon/California. Also of course SEC sports is stronger.
