First the blame. I blame myself and other fans for writing off Odom too soon. Could this season have gone better? Yes and it probably should of. However, he had shown that he has us moving in the right direction. We should not get so wrapped up in 4 game stretches and let the season play out before wanting to fire coaches.

Credit is due to Odom and his entire staff. Odom may be the best coach in the country at keeping a locker room together. All the external negativity and poor results on the field do nothing to get Odom or his team down. I think people don’t appreciate how difficult and important that is.

It is a shame the season is over. These guys are playing so well that they could line up against any team in the country sans Bama and I feel like we would have an excellent shot to win the game. That includes Clemson. Not saying we would win, just that we would be the best team they played all year and they barely beat Cuse and aTm. This team is playing damn good football. Hopefully we stay focused and come away with a good bowl game and a victory over a rank opponent so we can have a top 20 finish the recruit to over the next year.

Odom still must prove that he can have a team ready to go in September. If he is going to play for championships which is the goal they need to be able to go week 1. He can’t wait until October 20th to hit his stride. If he can do that next year we have a shot of a special season. One thing I would call Odom out for over the past couple weeks is I think he blew a amazing opportunity that you almost never get in confrence play. Vs Fla, TN and Arky he could of let Powell run the offense for real. Not just hand it off every time. They did let him throw it three times today but all short throws. With the uncertainty we have at QB going into next year, he should have let him run the full playbook. I feel like that was a golden chance to see what you have in a real game against SEC opponents.

But enough not picking. Great finish. Congrats to the coaches, Drew, TBJ, Hall squared and all the other seniors. Thank you for a fun year and best of luck in your future endeavors.
