It's clear that Demontie Cross and Barry Odom have no idea how to coach defense and this team is filled with talented players hamstrung by a poor defensive scheme. I mean, what is Thomas Wilson supposed to do in this scheme? One on one with a QB, that's insane! You need at least 5 guys on him; that's on Odom.
What about linebackers who can't get off blocks? Pretty understandable that unathletic linebackers can't run, so why would you even want them chasing running backs? Put those guys 5 yds off the ball and let them sit there and shuffle their feet.
I hope after this season Odom realizes that despite multiple top 25 defensives this year, that he doesn't anything about defense and past recruiting of slow, unathletic players is a small part of the problem.
