Procedure performed yesterday by Dr Hickman. Spent the night at their new overnight lodge connected to Columbia Orthopedic Surgery Center. I was given Exparel by injection at the end osurger. Thus far had little to no pain in the joint. Some quadricep pain today after walking about 3000 feet yesterday plus physical therapy. Exparel has a duration of action of 48-72 hours. Incision wrap will be removed tomorrow. Hoping the better contact with knee will offset Exparel diminishing pain relief. So far, so good. Need quick recovery. Second knee will be replaced 7/6/2020. I can’ timagine not using the ice bucket wrap post surgical. Plan to post updates daily for the 1st week minimum.
Day 2 total knee replacement.
