I watched all of our games from last year on YouTube. YouTube has a ton of Mizzou stuff for those interested. The benefits of being retired. If we are going to have a better record this year our defense needs to improve. Maybe an understatement but in the first quarter of the Texas Bowl our defense was beyond bad. No discipline and no accountability. Just bad coaching to say the least and there is no other way to say it!!! The Texas running back caught 2 passes out of the backfield and no one within 15 yards of him. We had 3 penalties on our first series accounting for 49 yards for the Texas offense. If we play like that this year we will be lucky to win 6 games and if I am Jim Sterk I would find a new head coach. I love Barry Odom but he has made every mistake in the book in his first few years. Experience counts so very thankful we have an experienced defensive analyst on staff now. I am hoping our new defensive analyst who was a defensive coordinator in the NFL last year will help. If our defense makes major strides we should be competitive in every game. I watched the Auburn game from last year and the Auburn defense was just to fast and quick for us. I think our quickness and speed are fairly good on defense so hopefully we will see big improvement. We have the experience and the players on defense if they are coached correctly. Hopefully Ryan Walters will make great strides now that he has the keys to the defense. Fingers crossed.
