I think the defense was not as good last year as it seemed. As bad as our offense was a year ago, our opponents (particularly the better ones) did not have to open it up. Grabbing an early lead and hanging on was the safest path to a win against us last year. Now, our offense has improved, so good teams have to sling it to win and our defense is getting “exposed.”
