akin to the Sport Illustrated Cover Jinx?
Our long snapper James Workman III (who transferred from San Jose State after the staff got fired there) just got his big feature story that ran in last Friday's Missourian...and when he struggled so much Saturday night it made me think to go back and read it again.
TELLING QUOTE at the end of ths story:
James Workman III played in every game as a walk-on long snapper at San Jose State in 2016 and hoped to earn a scholarship. But the school fired coach Ron Caragher, and the new staff was hesitant to extend an offer. San Jose State's tuition was too expensive, and Workman III was forced to transfer.
"(Missouri) trusted my word about his work ethic and the type of kid that he is," the coach said. "And he hasn't let them down yet."
Long snappers have an interesting job because no one notices them until they mess up. So far, no fans have noticed Workman III.
