BASKETBALL RECRUITING

Missouri will hold its first hoops related event, Mizzou Madness, on the Quad tonight. We'll be over there and have a story Saturday morning. There will be three visitors in town:

James Brown

Jordan McCullum

Dallas Thomas

There is no reason to expect any sort of major news out of the weekend. They're all 2024 kids and probably close to a year away from making a decision. Getting all three on campus is good news. Brown is probably the biggest name. He's got an excellent relationship with Kyle Smithpeters. Illinois and North Carolina are probably the biggest competition. McCullum might be the most "gettable" at this point in time. Thomas will be at Arkansas soon. We'll do our best to catch up with all three as soon as we can after the weekend.

John Bol was in town last weekend. We had messaged with him on Sunday and hoped to be able to talk to Bol about the visit, but that didn't end up happening. Good first move for Mizzou to get him on campus, but a long way to go here.

The most time-sensitive news revolves around Jordan Butler. The 2023 big man visited Mizzou a couple of weeks ago. He has a top three of Mizzou, Auburn and South Carolina with a decision coming "soon." Butler told us earlier this week he didn't have a specific day picked out to announce, but we think there's a good chance we hear news this week. It's unlikely to be Auburn. This comes down to Mizzou or South Carolina. The Gamecocks are the in-state school and that could be a factor. Everything we've heard is that Butler and his family love the Mizzou staff. If they can overcome the distance factor, they'll get him. Nobody is sure on this one. The coaching staffs don't know. From what we've heard, both are cautiously optimistic, but neither is sure where Butler will end up. We'll keep you posted.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Missouri has their biggest home game of the season on Saturday with Georgia in town, the Tigers are expected to have a lot of visitors on campus with a capacity crowd expected. Here are a list of notable targets that will be on campus that we know of so far. We do not assume this is a complete list. There will probably be others and we'll do our best to identify some of them tomorrow before the game.

Commits:

Brett Le Blanc
, long snapper (PWO)
Jahkai Lang (we had an update with him this morning)
Brayshawn Littlejohn
Jamal Roberts

2023 Targets:

Brandon Solis, OT - lengthy OL target out of Nashville, Tennessee. Took officials to Boston College and Cincinnait this summer. Miss. State, TCU, Indiana, and Florida State showing interest
Samuel M'Pemba, DE - doesn't have Missouri among his top schools. Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fla.), and Tennessee among his named finalists. Truthfully, this seems more like a chance to see UGA play in person, but if a kid like M'Pemba says he wants to come to campus, you don't say no.
Taje McCoy, DE - recent offer out of Oklahoma
Jyaire Hill, CB - took an official with Mizzou in June. Michigan and Illinois also involved. Tough one to read because he really doesn't talk, but definitely a good sign to get him on campus.
Antwon Hayden, LB - currently committed to Illinois. Missouri and Mississippi State also involved.
Phillip Roche, S - other notable offers from Purdue, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Nebraska

2024 Targets:

Tionne Gray, OL - picked up an offer from Mizzou at their July camp. Also visited for the Abilene Christian game. Arkansas has also offered.
Aneyas Williams, RB - the Rivals250 prospect returns after visiting for the Abilene Christian game.
Tyjai Hopper, CB - brother of Tyrone, cousin of Ty'Ran. Also has offers from Colorado, Boise State, and App State.

2025 Targets:

Jon Adair, OL - a teammate of Brandon Solis out of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. Missouri is his first and only offer so far.

Other notable non-targets:

Wyatt Gilmore, 2024 DE - prospect out of Minnesota, who has visited the Gophers a bunch already. Doesn't have a Missouri offer yet, but wouldn't be surprised if he picked one up. Iowa State and Kansas are his other notable offers.

Broderick Shull, 2025 OL/DL - Webb City product that camped at Mizzou over the summer

We'll keep you up to date on anything notable that happens.
