Yankees are ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the 10th... Mariners have runners on 1st & 3rd with nobody out and their best RBI guy at the plate... Batter swings at a pitch and strikes out... The bat goes flying toward 3rd base... In trying to get away from the flying bat, the runner on 3rd runs WAY TOO FAR off the base... Like, he's way over in foul territory, all the way into the coach's box... But the play is still live... Nobody called time.
The Yankees throw to 3rd before he can get back to the base and pick him off... Now there's 2 outs... Next batter hits a fly ball that woulda been a sac fly and tied the game... Instead, it's the final out... Yankees win, Mariners lose... Mariners might miss the playoffs bc of this dumbass play.
