Story from the NYT about how economically hard hit by this pandemic Millennials and Gen Z have been.
It's pretty telling how soft and I'll prepared today's youngest generation is compared to basically all who've come before them. Honestly, I blame my generation collectively as parents. You raised a bunch of pussies who are now finding that, even with govt assistance, video games and being in the alt rock band weren't actual career choice after all.
Very few young people have viable, liquid saving, investment assets, or own real property. That wasn't any surprise to read. What was surprising is the jobs these people held. It read like a report on Millennial stereotypes or something from The Onion. I'd love to know what they studied in college to have built their debt load; how did they picture themselves making money?
Also, stop making babies and filling up credit cards ffs when all you do for work is deliver McDonald's. These are simply poor life choices.
Lastly, if she really cared to, Ms. Cumberledge could make all the money, so I'll accept no excuses from her. She's already participating in gateway activities (selling pictures of her feet to online fetish pervs).
Note: Yes, I understand there are some people whose personal circumstances or health have left them in similarly precarious financial situations despite their best intentions. That is not what this story covers, however.
