My major was English when first I enrolled at Mizzou. Later in the education game, I switched to Marketing-Business, given that the future earning potential comparison was a no brainer.
I did not have a silver spoon, so it was critical for me to think about the future at the time.
It turned out to be a good decision and the financial rewards came my way, but....if one won the lottery in the past, what would you have chosen as a major?
I have often thought that I would have loved to be a History major walking around campus with those elbow patches on my corduroy sport jacket. English would have been a second choice. Tenured, of course.
My partner has a cousin who was very wealthy and chose to major in Philosophy...how special for the elite.
Your thoughts, if you were on a different path?
