He expressed his thoughts and prayers to St. Louis community for events that happened yesterday. He said it's not about whose right it's about what's right. He said kids shouldn't be afraid to walk into schools afraid. He said we shouldn't pick sides we should find solutions. He said there will be something done as a team to honor those people on Saturday.

He said they will replicate the noise in practice because Texas A&M had several false start/delay of games related to crowd noise.

He said USC has dynamic weapons on offense and their special teams is stout.

He said that USC has been very opportunistic defensively to create turnovers. He said they've been able to create huge momentum swings on special teams and defense and the offense has been able to capitalize.

Drink said in the three road losses that they've given up punt returns for TDs, pick sixes and a number of momentum-swinging plays. He said the team has to play a complementary style of play. He said the offense can't put the defense in bad places and expect a great result to often.

He said that the South Carolina game last year was similar to the Vandy game last week. Up 17 points in the fourth quarter and allowed the opposing team to crawl back.

He said the team has to protect the quarterback, establish the run and get the ball to playmakers more. He regrets having Brady throw on that strip sack. He also takes the blame of the second-half play.

He said that the backup QB depends on the situation and timing of the game. "In short I'm not going to tell you."

Drink said Rattler can throw the ball down the field, get it to his playmakers and keeps plays alive.

Drink said that DJ Coleman has earned more reps and that he's done a great job in pass rush. He said that when they saw Coleman in the transfer they noticed he played his best against FBS opponents when his weight was up. So, Drink knew they could bulk Coleman up and Coleman's talent could translate.

Drink said the biggest thing for Luther Burden III is that he has to focus on what he can control. He said LB3 can worry on expectations that others set out for him and that getting healthy is important. Drink said being 80% in college football and playing against good players is not the same as doing that in high school. Drink thinks LB3 is at 90%.

Drink said the most fixable thing on offense is turnovers. The second is protecting the quarterback. He said the wide receivers are good but if the QB gets no protection it doesn't matter.

He said that Cody Schrader will be the lead RB moving forward. He said Schrader has been more consistent and protects the ball better. Drink said that Cody has done what they asked every day and that he's shown this on and off the field. He outplayed everyone in fall camp and he's still doing it now.

He said the QB draw on the first play of the last offensive drive was because they weren't running the outside zone well and saw that the blocking alignments would allow the QB to be a free runner if the blocks turned out correct. They did a similar thing at Florida

Hyrin White's availability is still unknown. They haven't had convos about filing a medical waiver and don't want to put pressure on White to make a decision. They just want to get him healthy.

Drink jokingly said he dreams about being a HC and not calling the plays. On a serious note, he said he wouldn't mind having an offensive coordinator if the timing was right and there was a good coach to be his OC. He said this is a situation he created and that he needs to fix it.

He said the team has improved in recruiting, nutrition, strength and training, defense, fan attendance and now they still have to fix other things (he's talking of course about the offense mostly).

He said play to play process starts on Sunday and they (drink and QB coach Bush Hamdan) self-scout. He then said they scout their opponents and how they can be successful against the opponent. Then they go to practice and that lasts til Friday. They compartmentalize plays by runs, screens, passes, third-down plays, specific packages, etc. Then they have to

Drink said he talked to Sam Horn about not playing and that the plan was to play him. He said it didn't phase Sam that he didn't play. He said he won't tell Sam he plays on Saturday but there is 100 scenarios that show sam plays.
