He said he is happy for the team to be able to travel to Auburn for the first time ever. He said they have special players on both sides of the ball especially defensively but he said the focus this week is internal.
He said they need to be better in all three phases of the game.
He said that he learned the Boise State offensive philosophy and tried to make his own offense from that.
He said that there is nothing different about facing a team that has a familiar style as opposed to a team you don't have a history with or similar styles because both coaches are trying to attack the other's weak points in the scheme.
He said they have to start fast and dictate the pace of the game, especially at Auburn.
He said the biggest challenge has been offensive line penalties (13 this season). Can't have negative yardage plays is what he said.
He said they have a tremendous front 4 at Auburn.
He said holding opponents don't have anything to do with the defensive line it's about the team themselves fixing it.
He said tackling is a big deal when you want to be a good defensive team. "It's one thing to miss a tackle it's another thing to overrun a tackle." Drink says defense has to dictate leverage in tackles. ACU converted three third downs due to miss tackles in week 3.
Said they've always been confident in Dom Lovett. Said they've seen deep ball connection with Brady and Lovett in practice but haven't put it on film all too much.
Drink shakes his head when asked about Brady Cook sliding more. He said he wants Cook to display toughness but he doesn't want him to be "dumb tough."
There will be a transcript posted later in the day.
