This has zero to do with politics. All these fools in charge of preparation behaved the same regardless of party in charge or policies/priorities of the person in charge.
They are in charge of the “pandemic plan” for the country. The plan for our society to deal well with a global pandemic is their responsibility. We can rarely test how good these people are. We can’t test if they did their job and had a good plan in their hip pocket because thankfully we don’t have situations like this.
But we entrust them to do a good job without such a test. We ask them to be their best on having a good plan.
It’s not like they didn’t have JR versions of this. SARS, Ebola, H1N1... all minor league tests. This test from Wuhan... not the hardest final they might have to take. No, a harder final could be much more infectious and deadly. And previous practice tests should have allowed them to nail this one.
They are presented with this final and they fail miserably. They have almost nothing and the centerpiece of their plan is “stay the fvck home”. That’s their pandemic plan. Stay home for 2 months. Geezus that’s bad

I heard none of them raising the problem of Chinese disinformation
I heard none of them taking about the need to have fast track testing approval, fast track vaccine trials, fast track treatment trials/approvals. You expect me to believe that you have no fvcking work around to your 18 month test/approval cycle for a vaccine to deal with a pandemic? What the fvck? Your idea of “what good looks like” in a situation where a vaccine is desperately needed is to just do the normal bureaucratic process a little faster?
