Don't get me wrong, Pinkel was iconic and unmatched as a football coach. Never another like him. But it seems after our highly ranked seasons in 2007 and 2013, he continued to "do what we do" as far as recruits, finding underrated gems. I don't believe we had an increase in average recruit rating. Then, after our successful seasons, Mizzou's record would come back down to earth
Drinkwitz's current approach is killing it in getting highly rated players out of high school AND highly rated players in the transfer portal. He's taking the Top 10 finish and is off to the races. In fact, I don't remember a more successful recruiting period for Mizzou than we're going through now in my lifetime. Drink is on fire, and it's known nationally at this point. Hopefully this will make Mizzou's on field dominance continue for longer.
