So one of the cast members was killed in a car wreck on the way to work. Cast member, coworker, teammate of the hotel workers that I was staying at.

It was somber, and those people who knew him were distraught, sad, crying, etc.

BUT, guests still has to be served, taken care of, jobs had to be done.

This may sound crass, but those workers, who do not make a lot of money btw, still had to do their job despite a teammate dying that day, one many knew for years.

I always find it disappointing that many bend over backwards to assist those who make a lot, when the poor, hard working, less fortunate don’t enjoy the same treatment, even a scintilla of the same treatment as athletes and celebs.

The reason I think they should have continued their job, is because we would expect everyone else to continue their job under just as bad circumstances. Cops still have to work even if one of their own is killed. Construction workers still have to work even if someone dies in an accident on the job. The real world is tough.

With that said, I have patience, compassion, empathy for those working, because I know it sucks and they don’t want to be working today. And I appreciate them doing their job for me.
