football scheduling question

I get the fact that the SEC schedule is tough, so why not load up with winnable non-conference games. Every team does it these days. So I am not complaint about playing the Vandals. But my question is this, does anyone think or has anyone heard that MU might be interested in playing a power 5 opponent in one of the opening weekend events in Dallas or Atlanta? More and more SEC teams are doing this, and for the fans, they are like an early season bowl game.

We have no more to lose than Alabama or Miss St. or LSU by playing in and possibly losing an opening game. Of course there risks, but it also allows those teams to have a national stage early in the year. It seems like as much as Loftin is trying to expand MU's brand, playing on a big stage early in the year would be a natural way to do just that.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything about this possibility for MU.
