I try to live by Occam's razor. I know most people understand it, but for those unaware: It is looking at a series of problems or explanations and choosing the simplest answer.
So how does that relate to football recruiting and Barry Odom? Well, if you recruit primarily against teams around you and the increased competition lowers your odds of obtaining a recruit, then the dearth of competition improves your predictability of obtaining recruiting.
I give you our competition:
Nebraska - Mike Riley (GONE)
Tennessee - Butch Jones (GONE)
Kansas - David Beatty (GONE) Or at least should be
Illinois - Lovie Smith (4 wins in 2 years)
Arkansas - Pig Boy Burt (Gone)
Ole Miss - Who knows? (Chaos)
Miss St. - I'm predicting Dan Mullen leaves for Florida
That's why the Liberty bowl would be the best option IMO. Memphis recruits are ripe for the picking along with the Tiger 10 and we are by far the most secure and simplest option for recruits.
Give it time, y'all. This isn't over.
