My mother in law lives roughly 1 mile walk to the entrance. 1.2 per google walking. This is the method for avoiding the whole shuttle system.
You get her extra resident parking pass which will get you into closed Ladue Road and you can park in her driveway. Return pass at that time (if only need for 1 day) and you are on your own. Walk to tournament and back whenever you are done. (You don't need a pass to leave the area.)
My brother in law walked up yesterday and said there is no problem with walk ups as long as you originate from within the closed area. People from outside the area, will not be allowed to walk into the closed area.
