Good read on Tyree Gillespie...and YES he is the guy who go beat on the winning TD last Saturday...but hopefully he learns from that and plays lights out this Saturday against the team he grew up idolizing.
His actions this past week after the devastating loss seem to indicate that he will.
He has a ways to go...but I think this guy's athleticism give him a chance to some day soon blossom into Mizzou's next great Safety.
Before you laugh at that...keep in mind he's in year #2 at Mizzou...and BELOW is what Willy Mo and Pig Brown did in their previous season before breaking out in 2007 into what arguably was Mizzou's best safety tandem of all time:
2006 PIG BROWN: started 1 game out of 12 and made 40 total tackles with one pass break up
2006 WILLY MO: started 4 games out of 13 and had 51 total tackles and 1 interception.
THIS gets me fired up...Ryan Walters on Gillespie: “He’s about the most athletic kid we’ve got on the team right now,” Walters said. “I think he’s got a chance to be really special. It’s just up to him to how good he wants to be in terms of how much time he wants to put in for film study and taking care of his body.”
