- WHAT GUARDS do you like best from the list of Senior Transfer options below?
Not exactly a who's who of immediate impact point guards on that list.
Joseph Chartouny - 3-year starter at Fordham. Not a great shooter but plays D and fills up the stat sheet. Best PG of this bunch.
Keyshawn Woods - Very good at Wake in 16-17 (12.5ppg, 3.5 ast, 4.2 reb - .495/.438/.756) but was less productive this past season while battling a knee injury. Definitely worth a look.
Kory Holden - Transferred to South Carolina and was expected to be a contributor but battled injuries and eventually left the team. A bit of a "hero ball chucker" at Delware. Talented but not sure he's a great fit unless he alters his game.
Miles Reynolds - Started off at SLU before going to Pacific, more of a combo guard. From Whitney Young HS in Chicago.
Aaron Calixte - Undersized shoot-first PG from Maine. TO machine. Don't think he's a Big East player.
Brady Ellingson - Role player for Iowa as more of a SG. Grew up in Sussex (only reason he's on the list).
Chartouny and Woods are 1-2 and there's a pretty big drop after that.
- 1) Aaron Calixte, PG, Maine LINK: http://newsok.com/article/5588728
- he 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 16.9 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds with the Black Bears this past season.Calixte is an incredible shooter, posting a line of .476/.386/.899 as a junior. But he did commit more turnovers (121) than assists (102), plus rated poorly on defense, posting a -2.7 defensive box plus/minus which was second to last on a Maine team that went 6-26.
- 2) Justin Coleman, PG, Samford averaged 13.5 ppg, 57/154 for 37% from 3, 210 assists and 87 TO's
- 3) Mike Cunningham, PG, South Carolina-Upstate, LINK: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3155700/mike-cunningham Averaged over 38% on 3's that past two seasons and 3 assists per game vs. 1.4 TO's.
- 4) Cheddi Mosley, 6'5" PG, Boston University, hasn't played in nearly two season, hurt last year and sat out due to internal issue the previous year, averaged 13.3 over 30 games as a Soph in 2-15-16. LINK: https://sportswtbu.com/2018/03/26/mens-basketball-cheddi-mosely-to-transfer-from-bu/
- 5) Keyshawn Woods, CG, Wake Forest, Woods was Wake Forest’s second-leading scorer this year, averaging 11.9 points. He came off the bench for 23 of his 28 games, earning votes for Sixth Man of the Year in the ACC. He averaged 12.5 points per game last season, helping Wake Forest to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2010. 2018 STATS, 11.9 ppg, 1.9 assists, 1.6 TO's, 37.4% from 3-PT: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/154/wake-forest-demon-deacons
- 6) Joesph Chartouny, Fordum, Averaged 12.2 ppg and with nearly 5 assists per game and approx 3 steals/game (2017-18 STATS: http://www.fordhamsports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8736 ) Led the team in assists and steals... Set school single-season steals mark... Named to the 2017 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.LINK: http://www.fordhamsports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8736
