Figure it's a big game, might as well double dip
Early it looked like Mizzou agreed with me that the advantage was down low. Not sure the Aggies can defend Noah Carter or Kobe Brown in the paint. They've combined for 16 on 7/9 shooting.
Those two and Hodge need 80% of the shots in the second half.
Dree Gholston can't take eight shots. Just can't.
Missouri's going to need something from either Nick Honor or Sean East. Doesn't have to be both, but probably needs to be one.
Good minutes from Aidan Shaw, great job by Dennis Gates to get to halftime with nobody picking up a third foul.
Some curious calls. The only one on Mizzou I thought was super questionable was the charge on Kobe, which definitely could have gone the other way. The fouls were lopsided, but evened out a bit and ended up 9-5. Free throws ended up 8 each.
Nobody would have guessed Utah State would be 0/10 from three. You can look at that two ways:
1) Missouri should be up more than four if USU hasn't made a three
2) That's been countered by USU going 13/17 from two point range and it's not like Missouri is lighting the nets on fire either.
Overall, you led for 18 minutes and you're up four at halftime, 20 minutes from the second round. You take that all day long. Now you have to finish. This team has been fantastic in close games this season. No reason to think this won't be a close game.
