I'm not going to lie and say it was good. It wasn't. This was a team that was a little flat after last week and Vandy came out firing on offense.
HOWEVER, there are 30 minutes left and you're in a one score game and get the ball to start the second half. Missouri didn't play well, but it also didn't play its way out of the game.
Drew Lock started out great and then went south. He also didn't get much help from Emanuel Hall who stepped out of bounds on his own on a 50 yard completion and had a knee on the ground on another play that looked like a touchdown. That's at least ten points right there.
The offensive line has been getting shoved around. Lock hasn't had a lot of time. They played great last week but have not been good today.
Damarea Crockett has been good and I like what I saw from Simi Bakare.
Defensively, it wasn't pretty. Ke'Shawn Vaughn is a good back and good backs are going to make some plays. The bigger problem has been the passing game. What nobody talked about last week is how many open receivers Florida just couldn't hit. Kyle Shurmur has hit them. 14-17 for 142 yards isn't very good.
Terez Hall has been all over the place. Nobody else has done much defensively. That third touchdown happened when Brandon Lee simply left the tight end to cover a back in the flat. Good recognition by Shurmur, but that shouldn't happen with a senior starter.
Missouri is actually pretty fortunate because it recovered two of its own fumbles. If those go the other way, this could be a blowout.
All told, not a good half, but plenty of time left. I still think Missouri should win this game, but it's probably not going to be the blowout I thought it was.
