this morning in ten thoughts I talked about the possibility of teams resting players in the last regular season game or a conference title game if they were already going to be in the playoff. Some good points were made to make me think that's probably not super likely. But what about this one? What if a team who thinks it's going to the playoff or has a good shot is out of it late? Say a Missouri or Alabama or Florida State or whoever is 8-3 entering the final week of the season. They aren't getting in. Are there NFL bound guys who cash it in and don't play the last game of the regular season because nobody cares about the difference between the Music City Bowl and the Reliaquest Bowl now? Especially when said player has probably already made quite a bit of money in NIL? I don't know if it will happen but I don't know that it won't.
