We are smack in the middle of portal season and was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about his intentions.
During the season some hinted that is was basically a foregone conclusion that he would be gone. That never made sense to me. He was a big recruit, but not a massive recruit. I feel like you have to be a massive recruit to have ample portal options as a QB without having played (like the Georgia kid going to Kentucky). Not saying teams wouldn't take him, but he would likely have to compete for a job unless he dropped all the way down to like a Mountain West level. To me, that would be shortsighted when you have the inside track to be the starter at an SEC school in a year.
I say all of this because in the thread about playing ku in 2025 I was thinking how nice it would be to have a QB that still had two years of eligibility that had 3 years in the system. That seems like the best option over the portal in that scenario.
Who knows maybe he just isn't good and Johnson or someone else will have passed him but was just curious if anyone had heard anything.
