I'm not trying to start a political food fight, although I'm certain it'll get there quickly.
I'm in my 30's and identify as a Republican. I haven't always been as conservative. I voted for Obama in 2008. My stance on some issues have changed since I've gotten older and more successful financially. I look at myself as pretty conservative financially but a little more toward the middle on social issues.
Here's my question. What is the draw for African Americans to vote democratic? The way I see things, the democratic party wants to keep the African American community dependent upon government handouts to keep them a part of the voting base. I feel like we are starting to see an uptick of African Americans voting Republican because of more opportunities. I feel like this is a conversation I've had a lot over the last couple years with people of all demographics and more often than not, they feel the same.
