Meth + fundamental Christianity don't mix. But then again, neither of them mix well with anything.

Ethan Mast, 35, and Kourtney Aumen, 21, of Benton County, Mo. were originally charged with second-degree murder in relation to beating and killing their neighbor’s 4-year-old child.
Benton County Sheriff Eric Knox believes the incident could be a religious killing, but would not go into detail about the specifics.
Police say they received a call around 1 a.m. on December 20, to a home in the rural neighborhood of Cole Camp. They discovered the 4-year-old child wrapped in a blanket on the bedroom floor- she was pronounced dead on the scene.
A probable cause statement provided by an officer stated that the child had “severe purple bruising” over her body and ruptured blisters all over.
Sheriff Knox confirmed that the child was dunked into an icy pond after being beaten with leather belts. The highest temperature during the day was in the 40’s.
In addition to the death of the young girl, the parents and a two-year-old child were beaten as well. The children’s mother, Mary Mast, 28, and the toddler were hospitalized and their conditions have not been confirmed. The father, James Mast, did not go to the hospital for his injuries.
The couple claim to have beat the child to remove a “demon,” and that it was necessary. Many are questioning how could the father just sit back and not attempt to save his family.
Neither Mary nor James Mast are related to Ethan Mast, despite sharing the same last names.
The neighbors, Ethan Mast and Kourtney Aumen are now charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and first-degree assault.
