Last season Cook couldn't really get much of anything done. He couldn't really read defenses (he would routinely just lock onto his primary), he couldn't throw with accuracy down field at all (part of that could have been the labrum...who knows), and he had pretty bad pocket presence. This year has been a big step forward. He is scanning the field much better and throwing the ball with much more accuracy. The pocket presence still leaves something to be desired. On the 3rd and 6 strip sack against LSU he backed right into the crashing DE. On the pick today he had massive happy feet before panicking and throwing the ball directly to the DT. A couple of other times he looked really indecisive in the pocket. I'm not interested in bagging on the kid, because when I look around college football I think there are A LOT of programs that would take him as their QB in a heartbeat, but for this program to take that next step I do think he himself needs to take one more step. He has one more year left, the question is can he do it?
