1) Feinstein becomes aware of the confidential allegation
2) Feinstein notifies Grassley immediately
3) The committee confidentially investigates the confidential allegation immediately
4) Based on the age of the allegation and the lack of corroboration, the committee makes the decision to not have it be made public and not to factor it into the confirmation process
5) Confirmation process should have continued as if there was no allegation at all
