Some of you are joking when you compare Gates to Anderson. Normally I'm pretty good at deciphering tongue in cheek sarcasm from full blown idiot...but I'm struggling here. I have to assume some of you are actually serious.
Last year, Gates took a bunch of transfers from Cleveland St and mixed them with Kobe and took us to the second round of the tournament, which we hadn't seen since 2010. People were on here bashing him before the season started because of where the transfers were coming from. You were wrong then and you're wrong now. Based on what we were losing and what we had coming back, it was easy to see that this was going to be a tough year unless we struck gold in the portal. That's obviously very tough. It's the way the portal works and it's why it should never be used to build your roster. We have the #4 recruiting class in the country FFS and already a 5 star for the 2025 class. The last couple coaches never even got close without hiring a certain father to join the staff. You're putting out a bunch of threads now that aren't going to age well at all. I do appreciate the good laughs from all the comments and the basketball experts coming out of the woodwork now that we're struggling. Guys are on here talking about what their HS coach told them back in 1950 🤣🤣🤣 Some of you know as much about Xs and Os as I do about quantum mechanics.
