I’m sure it may have been discussed, but it seems to me that players like Wingo will be much more apt to choose the state school if they see other highly recruited guys succeed and get drafted in R1. Helps more if they tear it up in the league.
My point: If Burden can really break out this year I think it could help land Wingo and have implications well beyond this year from recruiting standpoint.
I also think Kobe has the potential to do the same for men’s b-ball. I would be shocked if recruits aren’t watching his early success and giving Gates credit
