But for the 11-2 football season, how high would the heat be on the athletics department and university right now?

The team was maybe two plays away from being 8-4 going into a mediocre bowl. Instead, a 63 yard field and a 4th and 17 conversion pushed the football program to new heights.

That has masked a lot of bad things...

The basketball season

The fact that the BOC seem to have run off a fourth AD, one who just a year ago was regarded as a rising star. Gabe's column was spot on, they may have hired the right guy, but it seemed like a difficult road to an easy choice and that my be emblematic of deeper problems.

Despite this, I think most people would be optimistic about the coming year, believing that the football team could make the playoffs and that the basketball team will rebound with a strong recruiting class and transfer portal.

I wonder how people would be if football had gone 6-7 again.

I'm optimistic for the most part, but we should not overlook some warning signs ahead.
