Is our OL talent so bad it can’t be coached up?

I’m thinking back 12 months when our DL was the worst in the country. Drink fires Franklin and replaces him with Al Davis and the performance the second half of the season improved dramatically. They weren’t great, but became at least competent. Why aren’t we seeing this offensive line at least improving as the year goes on? Is the coach incapable of getting his group better or is the talent so flawed that no coach could make a difference?
