Early in the pandemic, many people seized on the hope that Covid-19 could be stopped in its tracks and buried for good once vaccines rolled out. But hope for a zero-Covid country fizzled for most scientists long ago.

No shit, really? The general population that follows basic science and data has been saying that for nearly a year.

Federal messaging and local government action, which once focused on stopping the virus’s spread and relied upon extreme measures like local lockdowns, is now centered on reducing risk and allowing the vaccinated and the boosted to go on with relatively normal lives with precautions.

Allowing? What kind of authoritarian shit is that?

Relatively normal? What the fück does that mean?

2025 can't come soon enough, but the left's refusal to move on with pre-pandemic life will cause greater harm to this country when republicans take control.

Now to laugh at the idiots who politicized this bullshit:
  • The top six states with the most number of active cases are all blue states (if that sort of thing matters to you)
  • Three of those states have statewide mask mandates - those states rank 1, 2 and 4 in current active cases
  • Five of those states are in the top 20 most vaccinated - 7, 8, 11, 16, 19
As for active cases per 100,000:
  • Thirteen of the top 14 are blue states (if that sort of thing matters to you)
  • Two of those states have statewide mask mandates - those states rank 3 and 5 in current active cases per 100,000
  • Eleven of those 14 are are in the top 20 most vaccinated - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 19, 20
So it looks like (1) masking limits the spread and (2) vaccinations limit the spread. lulz

Get vaccinated so you stay out of the hospital. Hospitalization and death metrics are all that should matter (and, frankly, should have from the very beginning).
