FOOTBALL Jamal Roberts - Third Down Back?

I noticed Saturday that Roberts was in for most of the third down passing plays.

Does the staff view him as the best blocking option? Was it just rotation based? How is he viewed as a pass catcher out of the backfield? Be interested in hearing the staff’s thoughts on that.
