Butts signed his letter of intent with North Carolina after Missouri made a late push, getting the three-star safety on campus for an official visit this past weekend.
Butts loved what Missouri offered, but he wanted to be at North Carolina and hear what the staff had planned for the future.
The Tigers missed on a fourth safety target late into the cycle. It will be something to watch in the coming months, if the program can land another secondary commit by the second signing period.
