“If you go back and look at the games where we didn’t tackle the best, maybe it’s because of the teams we were going against,” Pruitt said. “I have said all along, Missouri is 6-4 and have two games they would like to have back. They played Alabama and Georgia as good as any one in our league. They have a good quarterback. They are big up front. They do a good job. We didn’t execute well enough today to give us a chance to win.”

“If you have more in there than they can block they throw the ball. If you don’t they run the ball, Pruitt said.

“Today, the few times we were even in the box we didn’t stop them. They handed the ball off and got 6 or 7 yards. So combat that and say heck we are going to play them man to man and we didn’t cover them. It’s kind of pick your poison. Same thing happened against Alabama. The teams that can run the football effectively and have a quarterback with experience that can handled disguises and keep them out of negative plays which their quarterback did a really good job of that. That was a big thing.

“I think the speed that they played with affected our guys defensively a little bit. Whether it was fatigue. Whether it was poise, adjustments and making calls. We really haven’t played against anyone who plays that fast in a while.”
