Congrats to Gabe for including Joe Scott in the Ultimate Bracket. I doubt hardly any OPs ever got to see Scott play. Joe Scott was a tall (for the time) guard in the early 60s. He had a nice career until one night in old Brewer Fieldhouse...he went nuts. Now remember this was long before the 3-point field goal and his career game vs Nebraska was without the benefit of overtime. On this winter night, Joe Scott scored 46 points! Most of them were from fairly long range. There were some free throws, but he had to work for the vast majority of points. I recall that most in the stands knew the previous record and the crowd just went wild when he hit a 20-foot jumper for points 45 and 46. I'll never forget that game or Joe Scott. Nice to see a (nice guy) student athlete from yesteryear remembered.
