Hello fellow Mizzou fans! A group of friends and i are bicycling across the state of Missouri on the Katy Trail. This started as a group of knuckleheads on a bike ride. But we’ve turned it into a fundraiser.
3 of the guys on our trip had a sister named Colleen with special needs. They lost her three years ago after a long struggle with numerous health issues. In the final stages of her life, a family member was with her 24 hours a day in a nursing home. They noticed at the time that many of the patients with special needs did not have the opportunity to celebrate birthdays or holidays for numerous reasons. Therefore, they started a foundation in her name to help the patients in these nursing homes with numerous items, including birthday and holiday parties.
This family experienced an extended illness of a loved one with special needs. What was their response? They started a foundation to help others in their sisters honor!
We decided to make the bike ride a fundraiser for her foundation. If you’d like to donate, please do. If not, that’s totally fine!! Just keep rooting for our Missouri Tigers!!
